Have you ever walked into a "sustainable" space only to eat hot food off cornstarch utensils that disintegrate as you use them? Just because a product or space is ecologically friendly doesn’t mean it has to look recycled. The myth about green and sustainable design is that it looks that way. However, some designers are doing great things that don’t have that stereotypical green aesthetic.

Conservative estimates say that people spend 90% of their time indoors; that is 21.6 hours indoors and 2.4 hours outdoors a day. Some even estimate that the average American adult spends only between 4 and 17 minutes outside in a single day. What you breathe, see, and feel inside becomes crucial when you look at how much time we spend indoors.

What could be chic-er than a three day long green party? A three-day-long green party with prizes of course! Designers from Mendoza Design will be exhibiting at Boston Greenfest, a festival celebrating all things green in the City of Boston. We will be exhibiting some tools of the interior design trade, answering your green design questions, and raffling off a very special Green is the New Chic tote bag filled with tools to keep you fabulously sustainable! Interior Designer Senofer Mendoza from Mendoza Design will be speaking in the speaker’s tent on Friday, August 20th, 4pm on Green Design for Your Home and Your Business.
